Wedding Venues in Northern California
Cornerstone Sonoma
Last week I had the pleasure of visiting one of the most charming Wedding Venues in Northern California, Cornerstone Sonoma. It was a very rainy day but this property still shined! Cornerstone has multiple venue options and is home to Sunset’s Gardens and Outdoor Test Kitchen.
Cornerstone also has a marketplace featuring a collection of world-class shopping, boutique wineries, and tasting rooms.
The Garden Barn
Situated at the center of the gardens and surrounded by a large expanse of lawn. The Garden Barn features large double sliding doors that open on all sides offering a panoramic view of the gardens and the surrounding hills, an elegant firepit with seating, and lighting and heating inside.
This classic barn was a delight! Everything from the classic barn doors to the pristine wood paneling, to the existing market lighting, was perfection.
If you’re looking for a Wedding Venue in Northern California with a sweet, traditional barn, Cornerstone Sonoma is the perfect place for you!

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Joanna and Benny’s Classic and Romantic Northern California Wedding is giving us all the feels!
Classic and Romantic Northern California Wedding
Joanna and Benny were a dream to work with. Joanna’s style is classic, feminine, and effortless. We loved bringing her wedding dreams to life by creating this Classic and Romantic Northern California Wedding!
To capture this look, we used blush velvet linens from La Tavola Fine Linen, the sweetest Mrs. Box for her ring, and the most gorgeous Christian Louboutin heels for the perfect pop of Glam!
Nothing better than having your girls by your side on the most exciting day ever!
Benny gave the sweetest speech during the reception and brought tears to our eyes. He talked about how calling Joanna his wife felt kind of weird since she had been his girlfriend for 16 YEARS! Check this out in the video below.
Two is always better than one!
I have to say, we were pretty obsessed with Joanna’s bridal bouquet from Esmae Event Floral Design. Her work is lovely!
We are huge fans of a grand exit! Bubbles were the perfect choice for these two and the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento, CA was the perfect backdrop for this photo op, captured by the talented Anna Perevertaylo Photography.
Custom Glass coasters were taken home by guests as favors and we loved this additional design element for our wedding look. Again, they were just right on top of this blush velvet linen.
Gold Chivaris were the chair of choice for our reception. Joanna and Benny decided to do a long head table for their wedding party. We added gold rim glass chargers from Celebrations Party Rentals and upgraded our napkins to velvet for a plush feel.
This was a large wedding with over 200 guests. The Hyatt Regency in Sacramento did an amazing job serving our attendees and they definitely know how to handle guest counts of this size!
We wish these two lovebirds a lifetime of love and happiness!
Check out the full wedding video by the beyond talented Aperina Studios. We had such a great time working with them and I love how this video turned out!

Unconventional Wedding Design
More and more we are finding that brides are taking the unconventional approach to their wedding design. Joining forces with the amazing floral designer Nancy Liu Chin, we sought to create a wedding look to inspire those looking to make a statement in a beautiful way. We were so lucky to collaborate on this look with so many wonderful vendors, and we can’t wait to share with you these lovely images from the talented, Kevin Chin.
The color palette focused around blacks, shades of yellow, and a few touches of dusty blue and muted greens. With the table design we layered textures from La Tavola Linens – a floral eyelet design on top of muted yellow with a velvet napkin. Dark containers, candlesticks and rounded back chairs bring a depth to the overall look. Bringing the look together are mustard colored goblets, abundant florals and fresh fruit for a unique pop. The trio of centerpieces offers variations in height which adds an organic flow along with the open nature of the arrangements.
Mustard colored goblets from Hensley Event Resources tied in the florals with place settings and velvet napkins. A simple, sleek flatware design remains understated while the feminine place settings brought just the right amount of detail to each place setting.
Florals of ranunculus, peonies, and roses offer a romantic look. We added cut pears, grapefruit and lemons to tie the look together and bring a little color to the tabletop.
An uncommon twist – yes, a black dress! This black gown from Kinsley James Couture Bridal added the right contrast with the yellow and green floral palette. This formal cut dress by designer Tara LaTour, makes this moody look so fitting. Behind our lovely model, Jole, a wall installation of creeping vine foliage – a simple way to make a plain wall interesting! The well-known work of Maria Chang of PMA brought her beauty with natural hair and makeup to tie the look together.
This gorgeous vintage chair from Found Vintage Rentals displays this lush floral bouquet and black detailed shoes from Bella Belle.
The invitation suite brings the entire look together with gorgeous calligraphy from Lamplight Lettering and overall design by Elsa Madeline. With a lovely velvet box to display the engagement ring in from The Mrs Box, all of the details make this so special!
A simple cake design from A Spoonful of Sugar Cakes was perfection. We love the sugar floral additions to tie in with the rest of the wedding style. The cake table is styled with fresh cut fruit and taper candles to mirror the dining table.
When creating a look for your wedding day, it’s important to remember the design doesn’t stop with visuals. When it comes to catering and entertaining your guests, the food can be quite the show stopper! The day following our shoot we partnered with Betty Zlatchin Catering to host a luncheon for local wedding vendors and we have to say, we were amazing with the deliciousness this catering staff brings!

Style Inspired Shoot at Studio 817
Working on this shoot was an absolute dream! Our team of creatives combined tapered candles with soft velvet linens and gunmetal chairs to create our tabletop design for this Romantic Blush and Grey Wedding. Soft plant-dyed silk chiffon throws from Tan Weddings & Events adorned our wooden dessert bar and sweetheart table. Combining feminine textures to the more contemporary and rustic pieces gave us that romantic urban feel we wanted. Moody looks from our bride, dripping tapered candles, and sheer necklines gave us the drama.
Emik Nikora knew just the moody yet romantic vibe we were trying to create.
Mignon Floral Co. created the most dreamy florals and captured our vision perfectly. She is not only talented but also one of the sweetest gals you’ll ever meet. This design was perfect for our Romantic Blush and Grey Wedding.
Nude and Lace Jimmy Choo pumps were a classic and stunning addition to our bridal look.
Stephanie Hymiller created a classic yet dramatic Hair & Makeup look for our bride, Heather Dubinetsky.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Lynn & Lou paper co. This suite they designed for our Romantic Blush and Grey Wedding was absolute perfection. They were a dream to work with and have so many fun ideas. Click HERE to check out their work!
Soft grey macarons dusted with gold glitter almost too pretty to eat. Click Here to visit the bakery who created these beauties.
Ghost chairs are always a good idea. We loved partnering with Celebration Party Rentals on this shoot. Click Here to see all the other amazing event rentals they provide.

If a dream is a wish your heart makes, then Brittany and Jonathan’s co-ed wedding shower was an afternoon straight out of a fairytale. Hosted by Brittany’s Aunt Angela, this sweet soirée was full of decadent treats, exciting food stations and always entertaining bridal shower games.
To begin, the guests noshed on different food stations from Jackson Catering and Events. Guests were also entertained by harpist Rick Tan from Tan Weddings and Events for the full magical experience. Soft and lush florals from Thistle and Honey filled the space, as well as added the perfect feminine touch to our balloon installation from The Party Concierge. This event was one for the books and we swooned seeing the look on our bride’s face when she entered the shower of her dreams.
Emily Murphey Designs created custom printed Cinderella and Prince Charming silhouettes for our bar facade, as well as hand painted signage to place throughout our event. Lyricson mini scrolls imprinted “A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes” were placed in each favor box accompanying hand painted cookies.
Next, Paper Heart Patisserie designed the most breathtaking cake that was the perfect combination of whimsical and contemporary with straight lines and gilded floral details. Tone-on-tone blues with decadent details made this cake fit for any princess. Finally, we further adorned the dessert table with rose colored cupcakes, hand-painted salted caramel macarons and cookies and cream cake shots.
As Fairy Godmother said, “Even miracles take a little time!” We would love to start planning your event right out of a fairytale! For more information, visit us here.

When National Linen Company, also known as Creative Coverings, reached out to us to help plan their 2018 Spring Showcase we were beyond thrilled to collaborate with them. We started brainstorming about the look and feel of their event. It longed to be fun, hip, and something our event community hadn’t seen before.
The Event
The new industrial chic retail district, the Ice Blocks located in Midtown Sacramento, was the perfect fab location. Choosing to hold the event in a new hot eatery opening spring 2018, it gave us the opportunity to preview the space and sample some of their tasty bites. As an added bonus, Milk Money Donuts impressed our guests with over the top, artfully created treats.
First we paired Creative Coverings new 2018 linen line with blooms from Thistle and Honey Floral Design and balloon installations from The Party Concierge in chrome hues for this afternoon
soiree. Deep jewel tones and soft velvets encased the space and were the perfect compliment to this contemporary, yet oh so chic, venue.
Celebrations Party Rentals partnered with us for the finishing touches and provided superb options for our design table, guest seating and other tabletop items. Clear phantom chairs, gold flatware and new marble trays brought our vision to life. Giggle and Riot brought the party, as always, with their interactive photo booth. We absolutely fell in love with the custom backdrop created by Creative Coverings and Thistle and Honey.
We combined one of Creative Coverings’ new linens with dried blooms and the result was truly beautiful. The talented Carmen Salazar Photography captured the event, while Matt Brys from Extreme Production kept our guests grooving all afternoon!
See you next year!
We were so happy to have 100 plus event professionals join us for this pop-up industry event and we can’t wait to see them again in 2019 for our next showcase!

With the recent opening of Kimpton Sawyer Hotel, Sacramento brides rejoice at the prospect of having their wedding at this sleek, modern hotel. I was able to partner with Danielle Roe Events on this styled shoot to make Kimpton Sawyer come alive! Named one of the top photographers in the United States, local photographer Charleton Churchill captured this avant-garde affair.
Kimpton’s natural elements, interwoven with sleek finishes, were the perfect backdrop to this contemporary shoot. For the attire, we went wild over the bride’s sexy contemporary gown, designed by Project Runway-Israel designer, Alon Livine. The groom wore a classic, yet chic, black Armani suit.
The vision of Shannon Mahoney with Thistle and Honey Floral Design was to create organic textures mixed with elegant flowers to create the unique contrast between natural texture and contemporary blooms. Another exclusive element was the paper suite created by Love Notes Paper Company. Using masculine materials like white leather she was able to keep the papiere modern, clean and exquisite. For the table settings, a matte black flatware from Theoni collection and washed stone dishware from Standard Party Rentals was chosen. Velvet lines by La Tavola Fine Linens added a feminine soft edge, along with the glow of traditional candlesticks illuminating the space.
Staying with the classic yet modern theme, the cake, created by Amanda Ngo of Paper Heart Patisserie, was a three dimensional geometric piece of art. Offsetting the neutral cork wall and laid atop a Carrera marble cake holder, this piece of artistry, decorated with fresh flowers, merged clean and modern.
